Shannen Doherty

The CW has unveiled yet another new promo for their upcoming spinoff 90210 - and this TV spot gives us exactly what we want. And what do we want? !

It’s only 10 seconds long and Doherty only says two words - but it’s enough to whet the appetite for much more. Shannen-as-Brenda-Walsh offers up a coquettish grin as the voice-over intones “…an icon returns.” You’re right about that.

It’s Official: Shannen Doherty Joins 90210

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, News,

Shannen DohertyNow that we’ve had a few weeks to get used to the idea, it’s time for us to fully accept it. Brenda Walsh is coming back.

Just this weekend, CW confirmed that Shannen Doherty is returning to the zip she was once famously booted out of. In the announcement, we learned that Doherty will come back to West Beverly after she is asked to guest direct a school play.

Those who recall her stint in ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’ may be surprised to learn that Brenda’s character has since become a “successful theater actress, splitting her time between London and New York.” So successful, in fact, that she has already moved on to directing her own productions. (Hence, the invite from her alma mater.)

Luke Perry, Shannen Doherty and Casting for 90210

90210

Years have passed since the show rocketed to success (and was subsequently canceled), and yet is still dominating entertainment news. If you’re longing to see some familiar faces on the fall spin-off of the popular teen series, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re hoping to see Luke Perry on the new show, you will be.

“It’s that 90210 time of year,” Perry laughed with reporters as he answered questions about the spin-off (though he was actually promoting an unrelated project with the Hallmark Channel). Luke Perry has already stated that he will not - that’s right, will not - become Dylan again on camera. According to his own comments, Perry does not really wish to do the series without mastermind Aaron Spelling, famed TV producer (and sire of Tori Spelling) who passed away in 2006.

90210 News: Shannen Doherty May Return

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip,

Shannen DohertyJust last month, Lori Laughlin said it was unlikely 90210 fans would be seeing Shannen Doherty again. “I don’t think Shannen will. No. I don’t think anyone wants to touch that.”

Well, I hate to be the one to break it to ya, Lori—but it looks like someone does want to ‘touch that’ after all.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the producers behind the CW spinoff are currently in talks with Doherty about joining the ever-growing cast. What’s keeping her from signing on the dotted line? She reportedly wants to approve her storyline and paycheck first. (As if she should be turning any money down these days.)

Beverly Hills 90210 Cast Reunite for DVD Release

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Drama, Prime Time, DVD, Video,

Beverly Hills, 90210Wow, good times. Beverly Hills, 90210 was a 1990s institution. And now the gang is back together again—only this time, not at the Peach Pit, and only for one night… and without Brenda and Dylan. But hey, you can’t have it all! I’m speaking of the recent cast reunion for the DVD release of the first season of Beverly Hills, 90210. “We always worked hard to stay together as a cast,” Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), told USA Today. Preggers Tori Spelling (Donna), Jennie Garth (Kelly), Brian Austin Green (David), Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea) and Ian Ziering (Steve) were all on hand for the release. No-shows Shannon Doherty and Luke Perry were speculated to be absent because the cast can in no way profit from the DVD sales. Strangely enough, no one considered the technology of releasing series on video/DVD and so it was not included in their contracts.
